At Sesame HR, we know that managing overtime is essential for your company. That’s why we’ve introduced an improvement to Overtime Balance multiplier rules that gives you far greater control and precision, making it easier to adapt them to your real needs.
What does this new setting do?
Until now, multiplier rules could only be applied to specific time range (e.g. from 11:00 to 13:00 or from 22:00 to 23:00).
The novelty is that you can now configure these rules by hour units! This means you can apply rules to the “first hour”, “second hour”, or “third hour” of overtime worked, regardless of when during the day it happens.
Where can I find this setting?
You’ll find this new option when creating a new multiplier rule, or when editing an existing one.
Follow this path: Configuration >> Schedules >> Overtime balance >> In multiplier rules, click + Add >> Complete the required fields until you reach the fourth screen of the setup menu >> Select “By hour units” and create the rule you need >> Finish.
What is this improvement for?
This advanced flexibility is designed so that your overtime balance rules can apply more effectively to extra time worked.
- More effectiveness: rules are less restricted to certain time slots and therefore can be applied more widely.
- More accurate calculation: overtime is calculated automatically in a more precise way, better adapted to your company’s needs.
- Advanced control: different values can be applied to each hour unit worked within a single shift.
Rule conditions remain the same
Even with this new feature, the conditions that determine when a multiplier rule applies continue to be:
- During the schedule or shift.
- If the employee works more hours than those in their schedule or shift/contract (this option will depend on the type of configuration you’ve chosen for counting theoretical time. Check here everything you need to know about this configuration).
- Outside the schedule or shift.
- Whenever the employee works.
We invite you to explore this new feature and take your overtime management to the next level!
